PRINCIPALS THOUGHT
This week, while we are coming down from the euphoria of last week's fantastic production "Grandad's Surprise", we have a chance to reflect on what went well and what didn't and what we would do differently or keep just the same "next time".
The things that stand out for me are the hidden benefits that I hadn't considered – the camaraderie between students, between staff, and between students and staff that develops when you are working on something together; the unexpected abilities/talents that shine on and off stage, the self-esteem and pride that develops as a result of their success; the appearance of the whole community to support us. I love that younger children who may have been too shy to talk to staff or senior students before will now bravely come up and say "I liked your dance" and similarly, visitors to our school or people we meet in the street have a great conversation starter if they require it. Watching the recording of our show in the office foyer this week brings back all those wonderful onstage memories but I know our children and staff will continue to benefit from their experiences long after the DVD goes back in its cover.
Thanks for being part of our production this term – it really was a team effort and we valued the encouragement and support we received. What's more, the momentum and enthusiasm we've developed will stand us in good stead as we head into Speech Finals, Technology Challenges and Winter Tournament!

Thanks to all that wonderful sponsorship of our children, we raised over $2000 towards the purchase of portable padder tennis /tennis nets.
The children's chosen prizes have now arrived and will be given out this week.

A big thank you to Lisa Motley, Antoni Motley and Julie Hughes, for completing the transformation of the garden at the entrance to the administration block. For a few days the roses were truly carpet roses with the carpet having been placed over the entire garden area as a weed suppressant prior to the addition of bark.
The garden looks fantastic and we are looking forward to the bloom of roses in the near future!!!

YELLOW STALL TO CELEBRATE DAFFODIL DAY
Due to our post production party being held last Friday we decided to postpone our Daffodil Day fundraiser to this Friday (tomorrow).
We will have various items available for the children to purchase, between 20¢ and $1, at lunch time - including banana milkshakes, popcorn, daffodil day flowers…
